researched evidence-based, outcome driven, trauma interventions for children,
adolescents, parents, and adults in school and agency settings.
Leader in the Field of Trauma
TLC is a leader in the field of trauma and
loss, providing training, counseling and resource materials to children
and families. Located on the Grosse Pointe Woods Campus of Children's
Home, TLC's programs and resources are used at over 15,000 schools and have
helped more than 300,000 children and families nationally.
TLC Can Help
The effects of trauma are life-changing, but with the right
help, they don't need to last a lifetime. Trauma reactions can be the
same for adults and children. Sometimes reactions surface months later after
an event has taken place. TLC helped thousands of children and families
in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC following the terror of
September 11th.
Help for Children, Families and Professionals
TLC is a program
of the Children’s Home of Detroit. TLC provides hope and help for children
and families in times of trauma and loss and helps children move from
being victims to survivors. For information about trauma for both parents
and professionals visit the
Parents Trauma
Resource Center or visit the
TLC website.
